In the midst of a pandemic, many people have had to return to work. This means they are at a higher risk of contracting the novel coronavirus, which causes the disease Covid-19. It is important that employers provide safe working spaces for all their workers – this means taking and providing necessary precautions to prevent the transmission of Covid-19.

Now that we’re on level 2 lockdown, industries are opening up and more people are returning to work. While some people have the comfort of staying home to protect themselves from the novel coronavirus, which causes the disease Covid-19, essential workers are at the forefront of this pandemic to provide necessary services to all of us. However, most of them find themselves having to work in unsafe conditions, which puts them, as well as their families and communities, at risk of contracting the virus.

Amandla.mobi has put together a survey to help expose employers who are not doing enough to keep their employees safe while at work during the pandemic. You can complete the survey to share your story here: https://amandlamobi.typeform.com/to/b07dpfDG.

This survey was designed to collect these stories to create a powerful movement that will push for the protection of workers in Mzansi during the pandemic. We will use this information anonymously to fight for the rights and safety of all workers.
